Born from the succulent grapes of Nova Siri, Matera, the Taverna wine range captures the true depths of Southern Italy in every drop.
Hand-picked, squashed, fermented and matured in the Basilicata’s Cantine Taverna winery, every grape is carefully selected to create each exceptional and highly distinctive bottle of wine. With sizzling temperatures, calcareous soil and mountainous landscapes, Basilicata has the secret recipe for producing some of Italy’s boldest and unforgettable flavours.
Taverna was founded by the Lunati family in the early 1950’s and has since, under the direction of Pasquale Lunati, 3rd generation Lunati, they have continued to produce outstanding DOC and IGT wines in the province of Matera.
A new and exciting wine with no added sulphites is obtained from Pinot Bianco grapes with spontaneous fermentation. The firstborn of our new brand style, it is oriented to the pure expression of the grapes cultivated in our own vineyards.
An intense straw yellow colour, candied fruits scents and soft floral and mineral notes, the SenSO2 fully gives off the varietal aromas thanks to a careful and modern winemaking.
In the mouth this wonderful wine is fresh with a good balance and a soft and fruity finish. It is delicious as an aperitif thanks to its freshness and minerality. Serve at a temperature of 10-12 °C.
These grapes are specially selected in a selected area of the vineyard. In order to maximise the scents, Greco Bianco grapes remain on the vine to achieve their delicate aroma. After fermentation the batonnage is
carried out to obtain a great-bodied and persistent wine.
Straw yellow colour, with golden reflections. Intense and fruity bouquet.
The acidity is important and the wine is balanced and salty.
Serve at a temperature of 10-12°C
Ruby red wine with violet reflections, large, soft and fresh. The special vinification at low temperatures and a slight refinement for a maximum of 6 months in barrels give some unique notes to the wine.
Red fruits, cherries and black cherries, are the characteristic scents of this variety, which will remain intact over the time.
This 2013 wine obtained from a careful selection of Anglianico grapes grown on the slopes of the Vulture volcano. Ruby red colour, violet, red fruits and spicy scents typical of this variety.
Tannin is well present, but soft, balanced and elegant. Aged 18 months in 225 lt oak barrels and then at least 6 months in bottle before marketing. Given the long aging period it is advisable to decant the wine in advance.
From selection of grapes of Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah, left slightly to dry on the plant, we obtain an intense ruby red wine, ethereal, with a large body and with notes of ripe fruits and spices, with a persistent taste.
The Lagarino is aged in oak barrels for 24 months. It follows a further aging in bottle for at least 6 months.
Given the long aging period it is advisable to decant the wine in advance.
